We aim to pormote geospatial technologies to our communities and assisting key components of demand- driven successful geospatial projects. To evoluate the mission of our primary goal, we offer a number of short courses in geospatial technologies. All courses are designed to present a mix of theory and practical knowledge in real-word applications.

Basic GIS

Course Code: BGIS100

Course Name: Basis GIS

Duration: 10-Days(or) 20 hrs

Overview

This course is designed for people who wish to know more about GIS or to develop current GIS skills and knowledges. This course is not a software course but it will provides students with in-depth knowledge of theoretical foundation and practice in Geographic Information System (GIS). Benefit from this course, a diverse range of GIS skill will be able to apply in various fields including geography, geoscience, engineering, planning, forestry, environmental, emergy response, public utilities, transportation, real estate, marketing.

Prerequisites

You should have basic computer skills and be familiar with Windows operating systems. Experience with spreadsheets and common office applications is helpful. No prior knowledge of GIS is required.

Certification

To gain the certificate, students must pass a test and present their independent project with discussing to a broader audience. They must effectively communicate what they did, why they did it and what the results show.
